I'm a small business owner, mom to Christopher and wife to Dennis.
Hey thanks for stopping by!
I guess who I am really starts with who my family is and how I grew up. My grandparents were greek immigrants and my grandfather was a tailor and my grandmother a seamstress, considering they lived upstairs from me, sewing was a huge part of my life without me even realizing it.
As many young girls do, I became interested in fashion (my saturday mornings were spent watching "Style with Elsa Klench") and would pour through stacks of magazines and catalogs and long for the same wordrobes that that I saw my favorite film stars wearing. After watching my grandmother sew, I figured I'd give it a shot and started fashioning garments out of the leftover scraps of fabric that came off of the clothing she altered. I would then dress her mannequin and snap polaroids of the garments, and label it appropriately. Of course those photos are gone what I would do to get them back (sigh).
I started my company eleni in 2005, it is named after my grandmother and I am very excited about it, right now it's in start-up phase as am I and enjoying every minute of it! Hopefully it will grow and morph into something I hadn't even dreamed of as I continue to put one foot in front of the other and continue on this journey.
PS- please say hi to my monkey!
