Now I'm it!

Ok, so I got tagged by my online friend Mary.  Aside - the web is so cool, without it I would never have "met" Mary, thanks to all the tech-y people out there making this possible, you rock.

So, the rules are, that I must spell my first name and give a little juicy tidbit about me (just a tidbit is all she asked for, I threw in the juicy).  So, I have been thinking of this all weekend, and this is hard but here goes:

Head - my zodiac sign is Aries and it rules the head.  It's true that whenever I get stressed, fatigued, whatever, I get a headache.  Isn't that neat to know.

Escalators - I am afraid of them, I may have mentioned this before, if I did, it's because I am really scared of them.

Laugh - Love to laugh, love to hear laughter, especially coming from a certain 9-month old baby boy.

Exaggerate - I hate when people exaggerate in a story and you can totally tell that they are, it makes me feel uncomfortable and bad for them.

Nagging - I also hate nagging and naggers.  I really try not to nag Dennis because it just sucks to be the "nagging wife" .  Dennis you can pick your self off the floor and stop laughing now no really, please!

A.d.d. - when it comes to crafting, gardening, cooking, and just generally doing stuff with my hands (except cleaning), I have this big time.  Dennis actually had to have an intervention with me this weekend, no seriously.  It happened right after I presented him with a new baby blanket that I was embroidering, whilst having the iron on to press seams in one of my bags, whilst preparing a doll quilt top for my niece's birthday, whilst looking at beads online to make my mother a bracelet and topping it all off with the announcement that I would be taking a quilting class on Tuesday nights and am going to be participating in a weekly moms group crafting extravaganza.  God love that man, because if there's anyone in the world who's testing his limits, it's me -- not on purpose though, I can't help it, any tips on how to slow my roll and focus?

Ok, so there you have it, my babes is away for the day, so I must log off and get behind the machine.  I guess I have to tag some other gals, (one for each letter of my name) so here goes I'm actually de-lurking for some as I do this:

Laurie, Christine (you can use Chris if you want because I love ya babe!), Sandi, Amanda, Rhembein, and Carrie

All these ladies are fabulously talented and have such great taste and style, I can't wait to see what they come up with.  Many read the paper with their morning coffee, I read blogs!  But I must be going now have a great day!

And they're off...

Weddingbags A bunch of funky black and white bags for a bride to be in Canada.  These guys kept me pretty busy all week, and it was a lot of fun to make them, but now they are going to their new home, into the hands of some very lucky girls (if I do say so myself!)  The one at the tippity top, for the bride...perhaps her "something blue"?  She promised pics of the gals and their bags and I can't wait, but for now they are wrapped up tight and ready to cross borders.  Have a great weekend everybody, stay safe! xoxoxo

Hot Stuff

Plated  We were fortunate enough to have some wonderful Chili peppers come our way recently.  A fellow foodie that works with Dennis was very kind and generous.  So after consulting with a neighbor, and scouring the net for recipes, we (I) decided on Chorizo and bean stuffed Chiles - YUM!  Rather than spell it out in words, here's a pictoral recap of the meal.

Margden_21. I oftentimes enjoy a satisfying cocktail whilst preparing a meal.  There's something so numbing about it that I just love.  So you start off by preparing your cocktail of choice.  For this occasion, we decided upon some delicious and of course, thirst quenching margaritas.  Made in the one and only Brimfield antique show cocktail shaker.  Here's an action shot of the man and his margarita.

2 Preheat your broiler, have a few sips and refill.  Peppers Get the chiles in cookie sheet and put them under the broiler, for about 5 minutes on each side, make sure you do both sides of the chiles.  It is very important that you do both sides!  The reason why I stress this is if  you don't the skin is like wax paper - have you ever eaten wax paper?  Not nice, oh no not nice at all.  Pop them out after the time has passed, and stick em in a bowl with a paper towel over it, the skin will peel off easy peasy.

Food1

3  In a pan, saute up some onions, chorizo, black beans (drained and rinsed) garlic and spice it up with some Cumin.  If you've never had Cumin, trust me it's good.

4.  While the food is sauteing, have a few more sips Readingand make sure to catch up on some current events.

I cannot stress this enough that now is the time to do this since your face will be buried in your food and drink shortly and it is imperitive to find out Brad and Jen had a chance meeting.  For those of you who care, I've always been on team Aniston, and Jen's camp is denying that there was ever any meeting.  In Touch is such a bogus magazine, from now on I vow US weekly is my trash mag of choice, and never will my hands lay upon anything other than that fine publication.  Speaking of my hands, yes that is OPI's Lincoln park after dark, and the apron was my grandmothers.  When the food is done sauteing, you have to peel the peppers, make a slice down it, suff the delicious saute mixture into it and  pop it back into the oven (turn oven from broil to bake) heat the food through!  Enjoy!

Tagged, I'm it

So, my lovely friend and ex-cube neighbor Christine tagged me with 10 things people don't know about you.  This my dear friends is a difficult challenge but here goes:

  1. I speak Greek and went to Greek school for 6 years.  Every Monday and Wednesay from 3-6pm, when all my friends were at Brownies, or gymnastics, I was conjugating verbs and memorizing poems.  I HATED it, and still get pissed at my mom for making me go, but my brothers didn't have to.  That's bush league my friends, bush league.
  2. I've always loved to cook, when I was a child, when everyone else was watching TV at night, I would shut the kitchen door and pretend I was on a cooking show.  I know, I know, I'm flushed with crimson cheeks, dying of embarassment right now.
  3. Drowning and escalators are two fears of mine.
  4. I wish I could draw better than I can, I took a class in college but got too freaked at all the really talented people, so I bailed.
  5. I love, love, love to sing, and I belt it out in the car, and don't care who's around to notice.  If they find me entertaining, great if not then that's their problemo.
  6. I used to have subscriptions to both The big bopper and Bop magazines.  It was sooo fun getting those mags in the mail.
  7. I went to 4 colleges before graduating from U-Mass Boston in 2005 with an English major.  I should have graduated in 1998.   Better late then never.
  8. I love astrology.  Not just the horoscopes in the paper, but real astrology, casting charts and stuff if you like it and are interested, an awesome site is astro.com
  9. I have a white-hot temper, but yet I cry very easily too.
  10. No matter what happens to me in life, I will always want bigger boobs.

Night Night peeps
